Gold and Black - Christmas 2015

Our house is ready for Christmas 2015 and now I can seat and relax with candles, magazines, good snacks and plan holiday activities with my family and friends.

I feel like I managed to create a glamorous black and gold stile, redesigning some of my old Christmas tree ornaments. My mother send me the beautiful gold flowers from Colombia.

Advent candles with numbers that I made using air-dry clay and painted them gold.

Christmas Table

Already in November we had our first Christmas dinner with friends. I understand that we have to take a grip of every opportunity to bet together and celebrate life and friendship.

As always my hubby and I made a good team. While he cooks a delicious dinner I decorate the dinner table with beautiful details but simple to make room for conversation. In this post you can see how I put together the mason jars candle holders.

For this occasion my mother in law made her famous "Unni Cake". A delicious fruit cake with cream and almond base. Would you like me to share the recipe? Leave me a comment if you do so!

Green Winter

More Christmas inspiration! This time from last years Christmas dinner with my friends. I wanted to recreate a dream green forest with pines and candles.

The table turn just like I want it. I used materials that I found on nature and details from some of my favorite interior brands and shops.

I cant wait to decorate this years table!

Candle Christmas Decoration

Christmas... that wonderful time of the year is just around the corner, with the white, green and red colors, the stress, the presents, the cherished family-time... and Santa!

I had the opportunity to "play creative" with some Christmas decoration ideas.

Do you like this cute candle holder?
What a nice feeling to come up with something new using things that I had from before.
I used Norgesglass (mason jar), IKEA candle holders and Christmas decorations that I had from previous holidays.
I will use for sure this easy customization arrangement for other celebrations.

So This Was Christmas 2013

With this pictures of our Christmas-decorated home I hope that you had a very nice Christmas time.

As I mentioned on my last post, December came with some heavy stuff on a personal level, and I had to make the decision to prioritize my family and my health. I am happy to say that now I am feeling much better.
Now I miss blogging and being creative! I am looking forward to be back soon with more of my own ideas and pictures to show them to all of you.

If your are a blogger, I want to say thank you for sharing; if you are a reader, thank your for your support!
With gratitude,

Advent Final Count

The time has come! The table is ready and the presents are under the Christmas tree.

This year grandpa and grandma are coming to spend the evening with us and we are going to eat the Norwegian traditional Pinnekjøtt.

Simple table setting with red napkins, pines, two small vases with white azaleas and a red candle in my star tray.

It is going to be a party with red and beige pompoms hanging from the ceiling.

I hope to have time to post something before the new year but I will for sure share some special moments via Instagram @livingfourseasons.

Table Decorations

I picked up some pictures from last year Christmas dinner that I hosted for my friends.

The table decorations where simple to have enough space for 12 girls that enjoyed a good time, good food and a lot to chat about for hours.

Black, white and silver glitter where the colors of the evening, with pine cones and tree branches for a nature touch.

I always decorate my home the first day of December. The lights of the Christmas tree and the shine of the decorations helps me to survive during one of the darkest month of the year in Norway.

I will try to show one picture of my home every day until December 24.
Are you going to have a Christmas calendar in your blog?

Christmas 2011

This is how I decorate this year for the Christmas celebrations. I have use a plastic tree for the last 10 years and I think that I will continue to use since I like to decorate very early: the first day of December. I am use to host a dinner for my friends and family and because some of them travel for the holidays we have to get together before they leave. The tree, the candle's, the kids art work form school and kindergartner and good food are some of the things that makes Christmas spirit come to us during the darkest month of the year here in Norway.
